My All-Time Favourite Sofy Bodyfit Guierang Sanitary Pads Review

Many of you are probably curious about the popular Korean sanitary pad "Guierang" from Sofy. I believe all of us here are hanbang lovers in some ways. But have you ever imagined having hanbang in your sanitary pads? Yes?

Today, I'm gonna share my one year and a half on Korean herbal sanitary pad. How I got to learn about its existence, my experience using it every month, and where to buy it. I will also touch briefly on other local brands that I have tried and my general impression on them!

Let's read on for more review below!

Review: Vmax Sensibalance Scalp Mask

I learn about Vmax Sensibalance Scalp Mask through my little sister, who is also suffering from dandruff and itchy scalp issues. Her dermatologist advised her to get the L'Oreal Paris Sensibalance Shampoo and exfoliate her hair regularly with the Vmax Sensibalance Scalp Mask, and they both work well on her. Now she is less troubled by her scalp problem, and can walk under the sun confidently and happily.

Her success story attracts me to try this Vmax Sensibalance Scalp Mask out. However, it is quite a hassle to get it since the brand is only available at Penang Auto-City. Vmax is a locally-owned brand. You can find their info online, but I think they are no longer updating their sites. And the stall is also closed at most times. I got my Scalp Mask by contacting them through the number they put on the banner hanging around the stall. The price is RM 70 including shipping.

And yes, you can get them to ship to you!

Below are my thoughts on the product after almost finish using it.

Review: A.H.C The Pure Real Eye Cream For Face (Season 5)

I think I have finally accepted the fact that eye cream CANNOT reduce your eye bags, dark eye circles and fine lines. NONE of the eye cream I have tried, from cheap to expensive, actually does something to improve on those area. They may temporarily diminish the appearance of your fine lines, but the lines will eventually make their ways back. I think unless for actives, it is hard to expect eye cream to do more. Often time, eye cream I use is only for preventative purpose. They can hydrate, moisturize, nourish and even provide anti-oxidizing effects. But if you expect fine lines diminishing, dark circle reducing and eye bags reversing effects, then eye cream isn't very helpful.

Having said all these, if eye cream cannot really do wonder for your eye area, why spend a fortune on it? After my trials and errors with eye cream, I finally come to term with this very affordable yet super lightweight and nourishing eye cream from the brand A.H.C recently. As a product junkee, I of course would not stick to only one product. I still love those I have tried from SK-II, Belif, and Blossom Jeju. But if you ask to choose ONE, I would say let's go for A.H.C.

Review: Make P:rem Radiance Peeling Sleeping Pack

This is a long overdue review for me. I have been wanting to write about it but keep holding back to make sure that I use it for long enough before talking about it. Now that I have been using it for more than 6 months, with less than half left in the container, I think I am ready to review it.

Make P:rem Radiance Peeling Sleeping Pack is the first Make P:rem product that I bought. The concept of having chemical exfoliant inside a sleeping mask is really appealing. Besides, I am also curious about PHA, which is something new for me after AHA and BHA. I wanted to see if this so-called gentler approach to AHA a more effective solution for my skin.

December 2017 Haul Review with Gmarket: Missha, Lirikos and Mediheal

I am gmarketing again recently! And here are my hauls which I'm gonna share with you guys below!

Review: Petitfee Gold and EGF Transparent Gel Mask

I am not really a fan of Petitfee eye mask. I tried it before and was not impressed. The reason why I bought this Petitfee facial mask was simply out of curiosity. I was shopping for masks from Koreadepart some months ago and just happened to drop this into my cart. I guess I wouldn't have used this mask if not because of the expiry date.

This Petitfee Gold and EGF Transparent Gel Mask is an anti-aging mask. It promises intense hydration, vitality, nutrition, as well as dramatic firming and cooling effects.

Review: L'herboflore Cherry Blossom Whitening Mask

I have mixed feeling about L'herboflore masks. They are always pretty and attractive with the fancy packaging and great materials used. But the use of the preservative methylisothiazolinone is a big no-no for me. This is a potentially-irritating ingredient with health complications that should be avoided in all non-wash off type product. So imaging putting this inside your mask and force-feeding all that into your skin! Scary, isn't it???

Anyhow, since I bought them, I don't want to waste them so I am forcing myself to finish using all of these masks. Today, it is the Cherry Blossom Whitening Mask.

Review: Innisfree Premium Cotton Pads For Toner

I bought the Innisfree Premium Cotton Pads for Toner having seen it available at the store. These were new releases from Innisfree last month (or two months ago if not mistaken) and there were other ones like 1/2 sponge cotton pads and 5-layer cotton pad for masking or cleansing. I bought this instead because I happened to need cotton pads for toner and wanted to see if this works better than SASA's Suz Attirer or Shiseido.

Let's take a look at the newly released Innisfree toner for toner!

Review: Innisfree My Real Squeeze Mask - Rose

Innisfree renewed its Real Squeeze Mask line about a month ago. It has more than 20 flavours now if I am not mistaken, with new flavours like coconut, oatmeal, ginseng, fig, and so on added to the collection. There are basically three major type of essences, which are rich cream type, watery essence type and serum essence type. They also used very thin but firm cellulose sheet as the material.

I bought three flavours - rice, green tea and rose from Innisfree store a few weeks ago. Today, I'm gonna share the rose one that I used. Let's read on to find out more about the upgraded Innisfree My Real Squeeze Mask!

Review: Loveisderma UV Clear SPF50 PA+++

It is hard to find a sun lotion that is lightweight and easy to be absorbed by the skin. Many sunscreen like the ones I tried from AMPM, Belif, Hada Labo are lightweight but not refined enough to be absorbed by the skin without giving you any greasiness or stickiness. Having said that, I must admit that  I am a bit picky with sunscreen. Sunscreen is really a yay or nay product for me. I won't wear it, or wear enough of it, if the texture is really unpleasant. I don't like heavy sunscreen, or sticky ones. But I also don't like sunscreen that "pretends" to be lightweight when they are not. Sun lotion that often feels slippery or hard to get absorbed by the skin belongs to this "pretension" category.

And yes, Loveisderma UV Clear SPF50 is in that category.

Review: Loveisderma Hydramax Serum

Loveisderma is a bit more aggressive recently. They are sending me a few of their products and I am seeing their products almost everywhere on the Instagram. Among which, this Loveisderma Hydramax Serum has gained the most popularity and attention in the Insta society! I got mine from Loveisderma several months ago and after using the product for several months now I am quite ready to share my own 2 cents on it!

Review: Laneige Marshmallow Sun Cushion SPF50+ PA+++

I have a lot of sunscreen that comes in the form of gel, cream, liquid and even powder, but never really cushion. Primera came out with a sun cushion last year but I never got a chance to really try it out. I know Belif has one too for baby but that is not launched yet in Malaysia. It was not until Laneige revamped its sunscreen line recently that I got to try out one of these very innovative sun cushions from the K-beauty industry!

Review: 38 Products I Regretted Buying in 2017

I did a super long products regret review last year. I think I ranted over 50 products that I have tried and disliked in 2016. I'm not gonna spend so much time on products regret for 2017. Rather, I will select 10-20 products that I seriously regretted buying this year. They are all products I bought with my own money. For sponsored products you can check out my "Best of Beauty Awards 2017" for some honest comparison with other products in the same skincare category.

My 2017 Skincare Product Regrets focus on things I bought. Most of them are full size or travel size. Miniatures and samples are too insignificant to warrant the feeling of regret no matter how I dislike using them. Some of these might be things I bought in 2016, but since I don't record the exact date when I bought these things, my list will be based on memory and the dates I started using.

Full list of my 2017 beauty products regret:

Carolyn's Best of Beauty Award: 2017 Best and Worst Skincare Products Part 1

Time flies fast and now it is time to do my 2017 Best of Beauty Award again! 2017 is a rather stable year for me. I have moved on from being adventurous and started practicing brand loyalty. I also found my skincare niches and knew what I wanted before buying anything so I bumped into less gimmicky products this year. I also learned to avoid "stocking up" on things, even for my holy grails because the world just moves too fast and there will be newer and more economic ones coming up. I have tried most of the cosmetic brands out there (that I am interested in), and was also sent a few new ones to try out from generous brand owners.

These are skincare/makeup products, either full size or miniatures, that I have been using quite deliberately in 2017. For this year, I'm gonna put both best and worst skincare awards in one post to make things easier for you guys:

  • Cushion Foundation
  • Cleansing Oil / Cleansing Wipes / Makeup Remover
  • Cleansing Water
  • Foam Cleanser
  • First Serum
  • First Essence
  • Toner
  • Mist
  • Eye Cream / Eye Mask
  • Moisturizing Serum / Treatment
  • Brightening Serum / Spot Treatment
  • Anti-Aging Serum / Treatment
  • Acne Treatment
  • Lotion

Review: Make P:rem Blue Ray Sun Gel SPF50+ PA++++

I spoke about the orange-cap Make P:rem Capsule Sun Gel previously, now I am gonna focus on its blue-cap counterpart – the Make P:rem Blue Ray Sun Gel!

The reason why I bought this was to find a sunscreen that will work well for my overly bright office lightning. It always feel hot on my skin and I want to get something that will shield it from that infrared ray. Make P:rem claims that this can counteract the damage caused by hot infrared rays by bringing down your skin temperature by multiple degrees. I am not sure how they do it, nor do I experience any “perceivable” cooling effect when using this. One thing I do notice is that my skin is less prone to sweat and sebum when I am walking under the sun – with this on. I guess that means it is doing something for my skin, however unperceivable it is.

Review: Blithe Soothing & Healing Green Tea Patting Splash Mask

Actually this review should come earlier. I have already been using and loving this since May this year, but hadn't been talking about it until now. Those who follow my blog should have heard of Blithe. I raved about its Chaga Tundra Pressed Serum. Although I am less impressed by the Velvet Yam Pressed Serum and the Vital Treatment 5 Energy Roots Essence, but my love towards Blithe remains unchanged. It is a good brand that deserves more attention. So today I'm gonna bring your attention to another product from Blithe that again, many have raved about, that I think you would be interested in trying!

I bought this during Sephora Member Day sales early this year. I never thought of buying it at first because I am not exactly sure what can it do for my skin. I have many other chemical exfoliants that I don't think this in-shower, quick-remedy thing will work. It just so happened that I received two splash mask samples from my last Blithe haul that I got to try it out for myself. It was a love at first sight. I can see my skin looking clearer, brighter and fresher from that one treatment. Next day, I quickly went to Sephora (and it happened to be Sephora Member Sales, how lucky am I?) and got myself the Green Tea flavour.

Review: Innisfree Extreme UV Protection Gel Lotion 60 SPF50+ PA+++ (Water Based)

I'm not sure what my feeling truly is towards sunscreen. I don't like to wear sunscreen (and makeup, too). I don't like having that extra layer of "something" on my face. But I have this urge of trying out new sunscreen whenever they are launched. I'm not sure why. Maybe I am still trying to find my perfect sunscreen - a sunscreen that doesn't feel like sunscreen at all.

I bought the Innisfree Extreme UV Protection Gel Lotion 60 Water Base from Innisfree Malaysia several months ago. It was not cheap at RM 69, if compared to local brands. Now Innisfree upgraded its packaging again so this sunscreen looks a little difference than it was but the content was similar. It was launched during the summer time so I guess the "60" in its label was trying to imply that this has an SPF of 60. Now lets take a look at this Innisfree sunscreen!

Review: Acwell Bubble-Free pH Balancing Cleanser

I just finished my last drop of this ultra gentle, non-foaming, low pH cleanser from Acwell this morning! That was quick because I alternated between 3 cleansers and I still managed to finish this within 3.5 months! That actually reminded me how fast I can go through non-foaming cleanser like these, even though its content (150ml) is the same as other foaming cleanser.

Acwell Bubble-Free pH Balancing Cleanser is not new to many of us. Many vloggers and bloggers have talked and raved about it, so I didn't want to go into too many details about it. I am pretty sure you can find those elsewhere.

I got my Acwell Bubble-Free pH Balancing Cleanser from Althea about 6 months ago when they first launched Acwell. This product was a gift for the purchase of any Acwell products so I just couldn't miss that opportunity. I grabbed the Acwell cream and some other products and received this cleanser for free. Currently it is selling at RM 80+ at Althea.
